In 2019, Monsignor John C. Marine and Fr. Thomas D. O’Donald led a group of St. Bede the Venerable parishioners on a pilgrimage to Italy. One of their many stops included a trip to San Giovanni Rotondo, the birthplace of Saint Padre Pio.
In November 2016, St. Bede the Venerable Pastor Rev. Monsignor John C. Marine had the opportunity to go on retreat to the Italian city of San Giovanni Rotondo, home of the Franciscan Capuchin monastery where St. Padre Pio spent most of his priestly life. He visited the tomb of Padre Pio on many occasions, joining the pilgrims by placing many prayer intentions by the tomb. During his retreat, Monsignor and Fr. Kolenkiewicz were also presented with a relic of St. Padre Pio by Fr. Eremgild, the Director of English Speaking Office for Pilgrims at the Monastery of San Giovanni Rotundo. . (Photos above)
